ABOUT ME:

1. I'm 25 years old but people often think I'm under 18, I stand 5'0 on a "good day", and frequently people assume I have some kind of Asian blood in my bloodlines. I don't, I'm just your typical American euro-mutt (mostly German/Irish).
2. My preferred pastimes are playing video games (Adventure, Action, Puzzle, MMORPGs, platformers, sidescrollers, and the occasional FPS), reading cookbooks and textbooks, listening to music, and crafts (knitting, sewing, etc etc). Art has taken a back seat, but I plan to pick it up again in the future.
3. I'm a vegetarian, but not because of ethics or politics - I simply enjoy the adventure of eating a plant-based diet. You never realize how much stuff you need to change when going from an omnivore "protein and starch" diet to a vegetarian one - but I swear, it's a lot of fun!
4. I tend to treat knowledge as something that I constantly have to acquire. My friends make fun of me for constantly needing to know how things work or why things happen the way they do, but I think it makes me a pretty well rounded person overall.
5. I HAVE A LITTLE TONGUE. I know that sounds weird, but when I was born I was tongue-tied and couldn't breast- or bottle-feed at all for the first few days of my life, so the doctor had to clip the membrane under my tongue (called the frenulum linguae, for those of you interested in knowing the actual term for it) so I wouldn't starve to death. As with most tongue-tied babies, the doctor over-clipped it, and now I can't stick my tongue out very far. It also lead to me having speech issues as a child, but after speech therapy I talk like a normal person. Except when I'm tired. GOOD LORD I SLUR MY SPEECH WHEN I AM TIRED.


DELYA'S QUESTIOS:

1) What is your favorite time of day?

Even though I've been sleeping through it lately, I'm a huge fan of the sunrise. While my body prefers me to be nocturnal, I honestly would prefer to wake up every day around 5:00am instead.

2) What is your favorite time of year?

SPRING SPRING SPRING SPRING. I hate summer as it's frequently too hot, I hate winter as it's either too rainy or too cold to do anything, and I'm allergic to fall like a motherfucker.

3) What mode of transportation do you prefer? (walking, driving, skateboarding, hang gliding, etc.)

UHM I honestly prefer walking, even if I walk really slow and am out of shape. I recently (very recently) started jogging again. Car rides are okay I guess.

4) Can you describe the area you live in without giving away anything too revealing? (landmarks, names, etc.)

I live in a national forest in the east part of the US. We've got a pretty diverse temperature range, four distinct seasons, and a moderately wet climate.

5) What inspires you?

Music. Always music. More often than not I find that music is the driving force behind any stories or images I do. Nature is a pretty good inspiration as well.

6) Who is the last person you added to your deviantWATCH and why did you add them?

Jesus Christ I don't know. Probably that guy that does artwork for WoW because I'm back on that fucking bandwagon again.

7) What's your current favorite piece of artwork and why? (it can be by yourself or someone else)

UHHHHHHHHHHHH I dunno if I have a current favorite piece of artwork, but right now I am back into digging handmade jewelery (non-steampunk) and textile work. It changes pretty frequently, though.

8) Do you speak anything other than English? If so, what?

I speak a very, very, very small amount of German.

9) Who is your current favorite musical artist/band?

Uh, right now I listen to a lot of Modest Mouse, but picking a single favorite is hard.

10) What kind of scents do you enjoy?

I like the smell of fresh baked bread in terms of "general smell" but when it comes to perfumes that I wear, I almost always go with earthy wood-based or spice-based smells, things like sandalwood. I'm allergic to almost all commerically marketed floral smells (cherry blossom, magnolia, rose, etc etc) or clean smells ("fresh rain" "clean cotton" "new linen") so they're off-limits.  I dislike fruity smells like raspberry or strawberry or cherry, and I don't like sweet smells like candies or vanillas because they generally react poorly with my skin and come off smelling almost "soured" or downright rancid. Remember people, before you buy a perfume that smells nice in the bottle, make sure they smell nice when they mix with the oils of your skin. Or end up like me and have 5 bottles of perfume you can never wear.

11) What color are the underwear you are currently wearing? (if any at all)

UHM they are yellow. Just yellow. Like VW bug yellow. PRETTY BORING.
